Individual Howard County residents, Howard County Businesses and organizations serving Howard County residents are encouraged to participate in the Howard County Local Health Improvement Coalition (HCLHIC). A membership application may be submitted at any time.
Benefits of membership include :
- Access to networking and continuing education opportunities;
- Organizational visibility shared through the HCLHIC website and other social media;
- A monthly electronic newsletter (HCLHIC Digest) and social media tips;
- Opportunities to contribute meaningfully to the health of Howard County.
Applicants are asked to select a preferred level of engagement with the HCLHIC. Please know that each member, at every level, is a valued member of the coalition.
Membership Engagement Levels:
Level 1: I am interested in joining the HCLHIC to:
- Learn more about the resources available in my community;
- Share my community's events and activities with the coalition;
- Attend full HCLHIC meetings (quarterly)
Level 2: I am interested in joining the HCLHIC to:
- Learn more about the resources available in my community;
- Share my community’s events and activities with the coalition;
- Attend full HCLHIC meetings (quarterly);
- Participate in one or more designated coalition work groups (Chronic Disease Prevention and Management Group, Food Security Committee, Health Literacy Advisory Committee, Healthy Minds and Suicide Prevention Coalition, Movement Group)
Level 3: I am interested in joining the HCLHIC to:
- Learn more about the resources available in my community;
- Share my community’s events and activities with the coalition;
- Attend full HCLHIC meetings (quarterly);
- Participate in one or more designated coalition work groups;

- Commit my individual, business or organizational resources to further work group priorities.
